I’m pleased to announce that version 2.1.0 of the Powerline QRM Monitor is now available on Github.

The major change in this release is the addition of SDRPlay RSP1-series devices. RTL-SDR v4 and sound card support remain available as well.

Using the SDRPlay RSP1 requires installing the SDRPlay Hardware API first. The monitor uses this API to communicate with the device.

As always, the release also comes along with a variety of performance and correctness improvements. This release also did a lot of work “under the hood” for the sake of code hygiene and an architecture that makes adding more SDR devices easier.

I expect this to be the last major release before Pacificon 2026, where I will be giving a talk about- what else- powerline noise.

My test platform has been Windows 11 – Linux both x64 and ARM are big unknowns, so if you get it working on one of these platforms, please drop me a line. It should work, but it’s uncertain.
